On time delivery and product reliability are critical to the success of our customers’ operations. RPS manufactures a broad range of corrosion resistant composite pipe systems and equipment. Detailed engineering specifications and work instructions, a trained, skilled, and experienced work force, and a robust and proactive Quality Assurance Program ensure customers get the product reliability they have come to expect from RPS. With 8 manufacturing and service facilities in the United States and Canada we have the production capacity and flexibility to deliver large capital projects on time while supplying timely local service. Optimally designed products fit for your service – products that deliver critical reliability on time.

See below for the many ways we can help you bring your project to life.

FRP Systems

Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP)
FRP pipe systems offer excellent corrosion resistance to a broad range of chemical environments from strong acids to bleaches. RPS offers a range of standard designs as well as custom designed systems to meet specific customer requirements.

FRP Options
Surfacing Veil – “C” glass, polyester (Nexus), or Carbon Veil
Chopped Strand Mat Layers – multiple layers of chopped strand mat from 0.05” to 0.50” thickness
Structure – Standard pipe construction is filament wound.  Pipe structure is also available as contact molded; Fittings are either contact molded or a combination of contact molded and filament wound
Exterior Protection – Full exterior corrosion barriers available where exterior exposure to aggressive chemicals is present.
Resins – Isophthalic Polyesters, Chlorendic Polyesters, Vinyl Esters, High Temperature Vinyl Esters, Fire Retardant Vinyl Esters

P-150 – Corrosion Resistant
H-150 – High Temperature Corrosion Resistant
A-150 – Corrosion and Erosion Resistant
AA Series – Interior and Exterior Corrosion and Erosion Resistant
Custom Systems – Custom Pipe Systems Designed to Specific Customer or Process Requirements
Large Diameter – Custom Designed Large Diameter Pipe Systems (4’ to 10’) Desalination, Cooling Water, Penstocks, Waste Water

Dual Laminate Systems

Dual Laminate pipe systems incorporate a thermoplastic liner in an FRP structure combining the enhanced corrosion resistance of thermoplastics with the higher strength and load carrying capabilities of FRP. Dual Laminate pipe systems extend the application of composites to more aggressive chemical environments and provide longer service life in many applications.

Maxar™, our own line of FEP pipe, is chemically inert to a broad range of commercial chemicals including acids, chlorides, sulfates, bleach solutions, caustics, etc. FEP has a low coefficient of friction and is less susceptible to thermal shock.

Corrosion Barrier
Thermoplastic Liners – Full line of Vinyls, Olefins, and Fluoropolymers including Polypropylene (PP), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC), Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF), Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP), Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA), Ethylene ChloroTriFluoroEthylene (ECTFE)

Bonding Layer – Vinyls (PVC and CPVC) are chemically bonded using a bonding resin. Olefins and Fluoropolymers (PP/HDPE/PVDF/FEP/PFA/ECTFE) are bonded with a glass backing layer melt bonded into the thermoplastic liner
Exterior Protection – Full exterior corrosion barriers available where exterior exposure to aggressive chemicals is present.
Resins – Vinyl Esters, High Temperature Vinyl Esters, Fire Retardant Vinyl Esters

Olefins
HDPE/FRP – High Density Polyethylene Liner. Moderate Corrosion Resistance. Excellent Erosion Resistance
PP/FRP – Polypropylene Liner
PVC/FRP – Polyvinyl Chloride Liner
CPVC/FRP – Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride

Fluoropolymers
PVDF (Kynar)/FRP – Polyvinylidene Fluoride Liner
FEP (Teflon)/FRP – Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene Liner

We also have experience fabricating dual laminates with PFA/FRP – Perfluoroalkoxy Liner and ECTFE/FRP – Ethylene ChloroTriFluoroEthylene Liner. These fluoropolymers are less available, more expensive, and more difficult to process than Kynar and Teflon so have more limited application.

RPS has more than 50 years of experience designing, manufacturing, and installing corrosion resistant process equipment. In many cases composites are replacing corroded steel equipment.

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
RPS supplies design and manufacturing services to OEMs who want to realize the benefits of composites but don’t have either the design experience or manufacturing capability to work with composites. Do you manufacture or fabricate equipment that could benefit from the light weight, inherent corrosion resistance, and durability of composites?

Pipe Supports
RPS designs and fabricates a complete line of pipe supports for our pipe systems. Supports are designed to ensure proper fit, stiffness, and bearing surface to eliminate localized overstressing.  The interface of pipe and supports is key to the successful design of a composite pipe system and is just one more of the details we take care of to ensure the success of your composite pipe installation.

Electro Mechanical
Our Ohio facility specializes in the repair, rebuild, and service of Keystone Collector Heads and Carestone Polisher Bars for Steel Process Coating Lines. We are equipped to repair 15,000, 30,000 and 36,000 amp heads. We inspect collector heads, provide a detailed inspection report documenting failure analysis, and make recommendations for how to extend the lifespan of your collector heads. We also provide on site inspection and maintenance of polisher bars and collector heads.
