In 2011, RPS began an international project at a site processing copper, cobalt and zinc.

This extensive project included the design of a settler and storage tank lining system which comprised both conductive and non-conductive materials in the form of 9’ x 40’ FRP panels, prefabricated corner covings and wall caps, turning vanes, picket fences, launders, and weirs.

The work included 150 embedded flanges, more than 150,000 lbs. of custom molded internals, and over 15,000 square meters of FRP panels. The linings and internals were installed in concrete settlers – measuring 35 meters long by 15 meters wide by 1.9 meters high – and concrete tanks of various sizes.

The installation work lasted 18 months during challenging climatic conditions, and had to be coordinated with multiple contractors involved with the construction of the concrete tanks and settlers, as well as interconnecting pipe and equipment. The RPS installation team averaged 35 technicians with additional Project Management, Safety, Quality Assurance, and Administrative staff. RPS received high praise from both the owner and contractor for our execution on this project.
