The Position:

This role is responsible for manufacturing Project Management and the Procurement/ Material management program. This dual role involves coordinating the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects while also managing the flow of goods and services from suppliers to customers.

 

What You Will Do:

Project Management

  • Leading project planning activities, defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Developing project schedules, allocating resources, and managing project budgets to ensure successful execution within established timelines and budgets
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the performance of both projects and supply chain operations. Analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing process enhancements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including project teams, procurement, logistics, production, and sales, to align supply chain activities with project goals and objectives. Facilitating communication and coordination between departments to ensure seamless project execution and supply chain management
  • Providing input for project cost estimates by analyzing material requirements and pricing information

Procurement Program Management

  • Oversees all aspects of purchasing, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials management/storage on a day to day basis
  • Procurement and Supplier Management: Overseeing the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating terms and pricing, and managing supplier relationships; Ensuring that materials and services are procured in a timely manner to support project schedules while adhering to quality standards and budgetary constraints
  • Maintains accuracy of inventory system using company systems (ex. Monday.com)
  • Works with production to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment to keep shop floor running at full capacity
  • Works with sales and estimating to analyze RFQ’s and forecast material needs in order to expedite material delivery and avoid down time and overhead charging on shop floor
  • Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts, semi-finished goods, and finished goods
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs
  • Manages and monitors stock by ensuring inventories and/or cycle counts of high dollar and high usage materials to include, but not limited to, resin and tube inventories
  • In collaboration with Finance team, performs write offs of damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate inventory count
  • Establish a procedure for conducting physical inventory once a year
  • Establish procedures and improve processes for goods receipt, goods issues to jobs, and inventory discrepancies
  • Investigates/Analyzes reasons for extra consumption of raw material by collecting information from production department
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to optimize material management processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs through the implementation of best practices and innovative solutions
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure accurate records of material transactions, including purchase orders, receipts, and invoices, and preparing reports on material usage, costs, and inventory levels
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks within the projects and supply chain, including supplier disruptions, logistics delays, and inventory shortages. Implementing risk management strategies and contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential disruptions on project timelines and objectives
  • Implementing quality control measures to ensure that materials and products meet specified standards and requirements. Conducting inspections, audits, and quality assessments to maintain high-quality standards throughout the supply chain

 

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field; OR 7+ years’ experience plus proven success at project management with materials management experience within in a manufacturing organization
  • Project Management certification, and certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) a plus
    Exceptional organizational skills
  • Thorough understanding of project management, and all processes involved in the ordering, procurement and delivering of supplies
  • Planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder management
  • Exceptional people skills, with customer service focus and commitment to delivering client value
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled at mentoring, coaching, and developing others
  • Supports all manufacturing and field services work ensuring materials are available for production and services
  • Strong time management skills
  • Demonstrates great negotiation and contract management skills
  • Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including protective glasses, hearing protection and protective footwear as required
  • Demonstrates professionalism and integrity in all interactions
  • Ability to influence and work well with all internal & external stakeholders
  • Sense of urgency and self-initiative, and the personal drive for success
  • Proficient with MS Office, digital tools such as Monday.com, and inventory reporting systems
  • Commitment to maintaining 5S program throughout the warehouse and outside storage areas
  • Demonstrates knowledge and a strong commitment to safety
