The Position:

We are seeking a Production Supervisor for our Pipe Winding department. The Production Supervisor will work directly with our production team to ensure the production process is efficient and effective. The Production Supervisor will resolve production challenges and/or delays while achieving safety, quality, delivery, and cost saving targets to meet organizational goals.

What You Will Do:

  • Supervise production, processes, resources, team members, direct work and resources as per production schedule and plan
  • Minimize production costs by utilizing team members, materials and equipment in the safest most effective and efficient manner
  • Build a high-performing, trust-driven team by promoting clear communication, respectful interactions, consistent expectations, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Oversee team members’ daily performance and time and attendance while fostering their growth through coaching, training, and skill development
  • Collaborate with other shop floor supervisors on day-to-day work, labor needs, and coverage of supervisor responsibilities (if away from work)
  • Create a culture of safety and quality, participating in safety and quality programs and activities as required
  • Document, maintain records or reporting for production activities
  • Participate on special projects, or assignments as required
  • Embrace and enforce 5S throughout the shop by preparing, updating and auditing areas for cleanliness and organization.
  • Recommend and embrace continuous improvements to processes and identify opportunities for improvement by analyzing daily performance
  • Initiate and track near misses, accident investigations, and Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs) and document in EHS or other organizational systems

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of end to end fiberglass production and/or shop experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Post secondary education in a related field would be considered an asset
  • Ability to read measurement devices, read and follow project specifications, read drawings and direct others appropriately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective supervisory skills (coaching, performance management, training, creating great teams within a respectful and safe environment), knowledge of basic labor laws
  • Basic computer skills including MS office applications (word, excel, and email)
  • Demonstrates an excellent work ethic
  • Embrace change and see opportunities for improvement; supports and inspires others to welcome change

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for extended period time, computer-oriented work
  • Regularly standing, walking, reaching kneeling on production floor, lifting up to 50lbs on occasion
