Dual Laminate Piping Systems

An FRP piping system is an excellent choice for many corrosive environments, but when conditions go beyond the recommended limits, a dual laminate could be the better alternative.

Dual Laminate pipe systems incorporate a thermoplastic liner in an FRP structure combining the enhanced corrosion resistance of thermoplastics with the higher strength and load carrying capabilities of FRP. Dual Laminate pipe systems extend the application of composites to more aggressive chemical environments and provide longer service life in many applications.

We have experience with a wide range of thermoset and thermoplastic materials including Isophthalic, Vinylester, Phenolic, and Furan thermosets and Polypropylene (PP), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) High Density Polyethylene (HPDE), Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP Teflon), Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF Kynar Flex®), Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA), and Ethylene ChloroTriFluoroEthylene (ECTFE Halar) thermoplastics.

Resin: INEOS DERAKANE™ 411 (Bisphenol A Epoxy Vinylester)  (™ Trademark: INEOS Composites or its subsidiaries, registered in various countries.)
Pressure Ranges: From full vacuum to 150 PSI for 1½ – 12” dia.; full vacuum to 100 PSI for 14 – 24” dia.

** RPS piping systems with a continuous operating temperature above 180°F (82°C) should be evaluated by RPS Engineering to determine if the process conditions are acceptable.
