The Role:

The Project Manager role within our Field Services team is a key member of the team that ensures our projects run smoothly. You thrive working in a close-knit team in a dynamic (industrial field services) environment. No two projects are the same, some big, some small, different locations and always interesting. You appreciate planning and communicating throughout, enabling the team to achieve a job well done. This role is involved at the early stages of proposals and estimating, through to invoicing clients, and closing off projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages all phases of projects including sales, RFQ procurement, estimating, engineering coordination, material procurement, budgeting, cost controls, fabrication scheduling, construction or installation activities, and safety
  • Ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet all other performance requirements such as safety metrics, quality, profitability etc.
  • Identifies project scope changes and prepares job change order notices for submittal and sign off with customers
  • Collaborates with sales team, drafting, engineering, manufacturing teams, Field Services Managers/Crews and across the organization to ensure projects are initially proposed, planned, and executed as required
  • Actively implements continuous improvement ideas to deliver customer value and operational excellence
  • Tracks and reports project status within the organization and to clients
  • Ensures the correct products are fabricated and delivered that meet RPS quality standards and contract specifications
  • Actively supports the sales team and sales process with each client interaction; seeks future sales opportunities
  • Collaborates with Finance team to ensure all project costs are appropriately accounted for and all invoices have been issued and paid
  • Actively engages and communicates with clients to understand their needs; assists clients to find innovative solutions that deliver client and organizational value
  • Actively manages communication to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Integrates a safety culture approach in all projects; collaborates with EHS team to ensure projects meet all safety standards
  • Coaches and develops colleagues as appropriate for their development and for the success of the project, client, and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in construction management or related field; equivalent combination of education and related construction experience will be considered
  • 2+ years’ experience plus proven success at project management and estimating preferably in an industrial field services environment
  • Minimum of 2+ years industrial services experience
  • Exceptional customer service focus and commitment to delivering client value
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Skilled with mechanical assemblies and drawings
  • Strong business development skills including ability to develop and maintain productive client relationships
  • Good understanding of safety requirements and OSHA 30 preferred
  • Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including protective glasses, protective gloves, and protective clothing and footwear as required by the project
  • Able to work a flexible schedule if required, including nights, weekends, and on-call hours as a project plan requires
  • Demonstrates professionalism and integrity in all interactions
  • Sense of urgency and self-initiative, and the personal drive for success
  • Must be able to travel as required estimated: 50%
