Estimator / Project manager

The Position:

We’re looking for a client focused, and goal-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will provide estimating and project coordination in our manufacturing environment. Ensuring projects flow from quotes to purchase order to completion is critical. You will also collaborate with a team to ensure operational excellence and client value. If you enjoy building relationships, have a passion for customer service, and excellent attention to detail, this may be the role for you!

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare estimates for material, labour, and equipment based on job plan specifications
  • Interpret plans and specifications to make the necessary calculations for pricing of tenders
  • Coordinate projects and schedules from purchase order to shipment
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Drafting, Production, and other team members to ensure projects are managed to client specifications, schedule, and quality
  • Build and maintain long term relationships with customers providing excellent service and value
  • Maintain files and working documents, contract administration
  • Manage documentation for Engineering and Quality for delivery to customers
  • Entry level engineering involvement in job planning
  • Other projects or tasks as required

What You Bring:

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering preferred; other related post-secondary education along with experience may be considered
  • 1-3 years’ experience estimating and managing projects preferably in manufacturing environment
  • Excellent computer skills: MS Office suite, specifically Excel, ability to learn new software / technology / applications quickly and independently
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications
  • Client-centered approach with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and focus in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to problem solve and get things done – accurately and on time
  • Ability to demonstrate basic sales ability as you represent the organization
